Prana Shakti: The Science of Breath & Vitality
A 3-Week Advanced Prana & Pranayama Teacher Training Course
Week 1: The Vessel and the Flow
Goal: Mastering the mechanics of the “Kumbha” (vessel) and the science of gas exchange.
Module 1: Foundations & The Biological Breath
The 5 Vayus & Nadis: Mapping internal energy flow (Ida, Pingala, Sushumna).
Shatkarma vs. Pranayama: Why we start with Kapalbhati (Frontal Brain Cleansing) to clear mucus and CO2 “stagnation.”
Respiratory Physiology: The role of the diaphragm and the mechanics of “Negative Pressure” breathing.
The Science of the First Breath: How the brain signals the body to inhale based on CO2 levels.
Module 2: The Chemistry of Prana (CO2 & Oxygen)
Hypercapnia Training: How holding the breath (Kumbhaka) builds CO2 tolerance to reduce anxiety and increase stamina.
The Nervous System: The Vagus Nerve connection—how “Long Exhalations” switch the body from Flight/Fight to Rest/Repair.
Bandha Physics: Using Mula, Jalandhara, and Uddiyana to manage internal pressure and stimulate the endocrine glands.
Week 2: The Ashta Sahita Kumbhaka Pranayama (The 8 Classical Retentions Pranayama)
Goal: Moving from “breathing exercises” to true “Kumbhaka” (retention) mastery.
Module 3: The Solar & Heating Kumbhakas
Surya Bhedana: Activating the “Pingala” (Sun) channel for metabolic heat.
Ujjayi Kumbhaka: The Victorious Breath—using partial throat closure to slow down air flow and calm the heart.
Bhastrika (The Bellows): Advanced pumping to oxygenate the blood before a long retention.
Acid-Base Balance: How Bhastrika and Kapalbhati change the pH level of your blood (Alkalinity vs. Acidity).
Module 4: The Lunar & Subtle Kumbhakas
Sitali & Sitkari: The “cooling breaths” for thermal regulation and blood purification.
Bhramari: Using vibration to produce Nitric Oxide in the sinuses (a natural vasodilator and antiviral).
Murcha & Plavini: Advanced techniques for sensory withdrawal and digestive lightness.
Week 3: Advanced Integration & Teacher's Mastery
Goal: Refining the practice, therapeutic application, and learning how to teach.
Module 5: The Science of Matra (Ratios) & Brain Waves
The 1:4:2 Ratio: The mathematical precision of Prana to induce deep meditative states.
Brain Wave Evolution: How Kumbhaka moves the brain from Beta (Stress) to Alpha/Theta (Deep Healing) waves.
Pranayama Therapy: Protocols for Hypertension, Asthma, and Insomnia based on CO2 regulation.
Cellular Longevity: The link between slow breathing and reduced oxidative stress
Module 6: Teaching Methodology & Kevala Kumbhaka
Sequencing Mastery: Designing a professional 60-minute Prana session.
Safety & Contraindications: Identifying “Pranic healing crises” and managing high blood pressure.
Kevala Kumbhaka: The science of “Spontaneous Stillness” where the urge to breathe disappears.
Final Practicum: Demonstration and teaching evaluation.
Online Training: Live Sessions
